singer, song writer and composer Bob Dylan on 13 October 2016 won the 2016
Nobel Prize in Literature for having created new poetic expressions within the great
American
song tradition. He is the first American to win the prize since novelist Toni Morrison, in 1993. As a musician, he has sold more than 100 million
records, making him one of the
best-selling artists of all time. He has also received numerous awards
including eleven Grammy Awards, a Golden
Globe Award, and an Academy Award.
