8.4CRORE INDIAN CHILDREN D,QN'T SCHOOL

Census data: Freshly released. Census has revealed two alarming facts: as many as 78 lal children are forced to earn a livelihood even as th schools while 8.4 crore children don't go to school though the share of working students is low, con the whole student population, the nursers are si big to show how much importance is placed on edi families and the children themselves. the highlig data are as follows:
·       Among students who work, 57 per cent are bo, maining 43 per cent are girls.
·       Of working students, some of them aS'young a! old, 68 per cent are into marginal work.
·       Main work, or work that continues year round,
of the remaining 32 per cent.       ,
·       The other equally shocking dimension is that children don't go to school at all -that's nearly 21 of the age group covered under the Right to I Act.
·       Boys and girls make up nearly the same prop
the out-of-school segment. But, contrary to poi ception that children don't go to school becaus forced to work, the Census data shows that ju cent of them are working somewhere.
